Junior Executive (Community-Based)
Sara is in her second year of the BEd After-Degree Community-Based program, and is specializing in teaching high school sciences. Sara completed her BSc in Biology and Pharmacology at McMaster University, and her PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology here at UofC, before taking time away from academic life to build her family. As a mom of 10-year-old twins and a busy 6-year-old you can find here at the arena or the soccer field most days after school. During her graduate studies Sara discovered a true passion for science education and communication. And now, unable to give up her research interests entirely, she is also completing an Honours project examining the nature of science literacy as a tool to build resilience against science misinformation. Sara is grateful for the flexibility offered by Werklund’s Community-Based program, which has made her return to education possible, and is excited to represent, advocate and program for other Community-Based students with the ESA this year.
